Early Diagnosis Brings Major Challenge

Dr. Sunil Bansal, originally from Karnal, saw early developmental concerns in their identical twin sons, Sanskar and Satvik, and both boys were diagnosed with severe autism at 21.5 months. Rather than relying only on clinic-based therapy, they studied research on many approaches and built an intensive home-based program, turning their house into a learning space and working with the boys up to 14 hours a day for about 11 months. Now about four, the twins read English independently, perform academically at a 6+ year level, communicate like typical 7-year-olds, and attending regular schools with neurotypical peers. They have earned nine world records, including spelling 743 words at age 2.5, solving a 46-piece USA map puzzle, and youngest to perform addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division, and were named “Top Talent of the Year 2024 and 2025.” Inspired by this journey, the couple launched Autism Blessings, which offers home-based programs and parent training, is connected with about 800 families worldwide, and actively guides more than 100. Their inspiring story has been featured on the Punjab Newsline news platform.
