Heart to Heart

During our journey we have been through various emotions. Sometimes, we cried on parents’ pain while other times we expressed our heartly feelings on how the world perceives/narrates the children in autism spectrum disorder. Here, we try to express our emotions that we experience during this journey.

Let the World Opine

While you dream,
deep in your sleeps
We’re awake,
to keep your needs.

Under the moon,
in the dark night,
We keep working
to make you bright.

In the darks,
we silently tread.
A lot is unspoken
and feelings are unsaid.

Shadows may arise,
way may be unclear,
Tell me—
or maybe you can’t—
I will try to hear.

While you cross
this deep and dark tunnel,
I’ll be holding the torch
to brighten the path.

I will understand
what you may want;
Decode your brain,
lighten the path.

You still may crawl
while they already run,
Or fail to stand
while they jump and stunt.

In all this chaos,
find your way;
You look for light
in depth of gray.

I trust you fully,
you will pick up your pace,
And the Tortoise again
must win this race!

Let them opine,
and while they do,
Keep your pace,
you got my faith.

As they opine
on your “how” or “why,”
This or that,
the way you laugh or cry.

Forget and forgive
all the critique;
Look from my eyes—
you are unique.

When going gets tough
or may seem a bit blue,
Remember, again,
I’m right there just for you.

Whatever that may happen
and wherever you are,
Every time and everywhere,
there we are!

We trust you’re doing your best,
And must you know, we did our best.

Still, what matters more is the way
You hold my hand with trust,
Look in my eyes,
and give me a smile.

Trust me that, no matter what,
I care, understand, and love you most
I have loved anyone, ever.
Whether or not
I choose to express,
I still do.
Let them opine, as they do,
On me or you.
Hey, my love, must you know:
I am and will be there,
Always for you, with my love.
To support in your downs,
And cheer as you smile,
Every moment of your life,
While and till we are alive!
